Kerala Kaledioscope : 12N/13D

Day01ArriveTrivandrum
Arrive Trivandrum, the city of seven hills.  On arrival you will be met by our representative and assisted to the hotel.  Later proceed for a half-day sightseeing of Trivandrum.

Day02Varkala
Breakfast at Hotel and drive to Varkala.  Check-into the resort.  In the evening proceed for a sightseeing.  High cliffs with mineral springs rise majestically from the coastline.  Visit the 2000 year old Sree Janardhana Swamy temple and the Nature cure centre.

Day03Allepey
After breakfast drive to Allepey Jetty Point to Board the houseboat.  Allepey (Alappuzha) is known for its vast network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water rivers criss-crossing it.  This backwater country is also home to diverse animal and bird life.  It is also known for its boat races, beaches, marine products and coir industry.  A singularity of this land is the region called Kuttanad – a land of lush paddy fields referred to as the “Rice bowl of Kerala” and one of the few places in the world where farming is done below sea level.  You will cruise through the beautiful villages and lush paddy fields witnessing the men at work.  All meals will be served on board. Overnight at Houseboat.

Day04Changanacherry/Kumarakom
Breakfast on board the houseboat.  Short visits.  Disembark the boat at Changanacherry / Thottapally / Kumarakom.  Check-in at Kumarakom Resort.
An enchanting backwater destination, Kumarakom offers visitors many other leisure options. Boating and fishing facilities are available at Kumarakom. A picturesque world of backwaters thatched houseboats, Cormorants, Chinese fishing nets and swaying palms – An ideal getaway.

Day05Kumarakom
In the morning proceed to Kumarakom after breakfast.  The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake, and this small water world is part of the Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres, is a favourite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist’s paradise.  One can see a lot of rubber plantations.

Day06Periyar
You will be taken to one of the best game sanctuaries in India – Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.  Your journey to Thekkady is through breathtaking, winding, dense rubber, sprawling tea estates, spice gardens and wild forests…. do not forget your camera. Arrive Thekkady after a memorable drive of approx. 4 hours. Check in at hotel.  A boat ride on the splendid Periyar Lake is the best way to experience the sanctuary.   In the evening visit Kumily market to buy the best spices available.   Overnight at Periyar.

Day07Munnar
Munnar is a nature lover’s paradise.  Enjoy the picture-book towns, winding lanes, the marvelous waterfalls, high mountains with the low flying clouds passing by that makes Munnar a popular hill station. Arrive Munnar and check in at hotel.  Witness tea gardens spread like a green carpet over hundreds of kilometers, lust green hills, a place so difficult to describe, very low population too far from pollution, most of the covered by TATA tea.

Day08Munnar
After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing of Munnar. Move through the tea gardens spread like a green carpet over hundreds of kilometers. Lush green hills all around – a place difficult to describe. Sightseeing Munnar which includes the Raja Malai, a top peak of Munnar where you can see Neel Thar (mountain goats), Muttupetty dam, Indo Swiss project, you can also enjoy boating in the Lake (optional).

Day09Kochi
After breakfast proceed for the sightseeing of Kochi which includes Jewish synagogue, Portuguese churches, mosques & Hindu temples. Watch the Chinese Fishing Nets. In the evening proceed for traditional Kathakali Dance Show.

Day10Mararikulam:Breakfast at Hotel and drive to Mararikulam known for its Beach.  Day free to relax.

Day11Kovalam
Morning drive to Kovalam, the beach Resort with full of Coconut trees.

Day12Kovalam
The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse – sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programs, Catamaran cruising etc.

Day13TrivandrumDeparture
It’s time to bid farewell.  Transfer to the Airport to connect flight to onward destination.

Day01ArriveTrivandrum
