China 8D/7N : Beijing – Xian – Chengdu

DAY 1 :

Arrival

Our guide will greet you at Beijing Airport. Then you will be transferred to the hotel, and the check-in procedures will be finished under the help of our guide. Through the rest of the day, you can choose to have a nice break in the hotel, or you can just go around getting familiar with the surroundings.

DAY 2 :

Beijing I

After breakfast in the hotel, we will set off to Tiananmen Square – the largest city center square in the world. It is also the largest place for the public gathering like parade and national ceremonies. In the morning, the regular national flag rising ceremony will be held in the front of the square. Stroll north across the square, you will reach the Forbidden City, the real stunner of Chinese classic architecture. It was not only the political center in ancient China, but also the living palace of 24 emperors and their families. Try the famous Peking Roast Duck at any of the restaurant in the area. This afternoon, we will continue our trip to the Temple of Heaven, the witness of heaven worship culture of China. It was the site where emperors worshipped for a fruitful harvest for his people. Tonight, you will be livened up by an amazing Chinese Kung Fu Show at the Red Theatre.

DAY 3 :

Beijing II

In the morning, we will drive you to see one of the eight wonders of the world, the Great Wall. The part we are going to visit is Badaling, the best-preserved and most typical section. The wall winds along the rolling hills, which used to be the forceful defense system in war time based on the dangerous geographic location. An excursion on the wall will make you refreshed and relaxed. You are suggested to have a big breakfast in the hotel and pack some snacks for the lunch as the restaurants in the area lack quality. On the way back to downtown, we will drive by the Bird’s Nest (Olympic National Stadium) for you to have a glimpse of it at a distance. Our guide will accompany you to experience a Hutong tour by rickshaw in the afternoon.

DAY 4 :

Beijing – Xi’an

The guide will greet you in the morning and lead you to the Summer Palace. The palace garden was the summer resort of the ancient royal families. It not only retains the grandeur of the imperial garden, but also fully shows its delicacy and elegance. Lunch in a restaurant in the area nearby, at your own cost. This afternoon, the guide will see you off at the railway Station. You will take a high-speed soft seat train to Xian. After your arrival at Xian North Railway Station, our local guide will pick you up and drive you to the already booked hotel.

DAY 5 :

Xi’an

This morning the guide will accompany you to visit the Terracotta Warriors and Houses Museum, the world’s largest underground military museum. There are life-sized pottery figures in arrays, wearing different facial expressions. They were buried with the Emperor Qingshihuang for his protection. In the afternoon, we drive back to downtown to visit Shaanxi Provincial History Museum. The museum collects about 370,000 pieces of exhibition works, and the highlights of them are mainly from Han and Tang dynasties. Then we arrange a visit to Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a delicate Buddhist site surviving from the Tang Dynasty. This evening you will be entertained with a Chinese Dumpling Dinner and a fantastic Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Performance.

DAY 6 :

Xi’an-Chengdu

In the morning, our guide will take you to the ancient City Wall and the Great Mosque. The City Wall is the best name card of Xian. Strolling along the wall, you will get closer to the history. Besides, cycling on the wall will be an exciting activity. In the afternoon, we will arrange you to take a train to Chengdu. You will be greeted by our guide in the airport and transferred to the well selected hotel.

DAY 7 :

Chengdu

Your panda tour begins with Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, the highlight of this route. Panda is regarded as the living fossil and national treasure of China, for they are endangered species. We will drive to the base in the early morning, so that you can reach there at the pandas’ most exciting time, breakfast feeding moment. In the base, there are enclosures for pandas in different ages, including cubs, sub-adult and adult pandas. Most adult pandas are sleepy and languid, lying in the mats, while the cubs and sub-adult pandas are very active, playing and eating all the time in their houses. There are also pandas breeding outdoors. Under the warm sunshine, they are sitting, lying, playing and scrambling in the lawn. You will be teased by their funny behaviors. Besides, you can visit the nursery houses, where the newly born panda babies stay. Most of them are sleeping or at suck, so cute and alive. Apart from that, you can also drop by the Giant Panda Museum to get an overview of their origin, or go to the panda kitchen to figure out what panda feeds on. The panda cinema will show you more interesting stories of them. Lunch is on your own arrangement, and our guide will gladly offer you suggestions. After lunch, we will continue the journey to Broad and Narrow Alleys. The commercial street used to be the local people’s residence, and developed into a cultural quarter. There are many tea houses, fancy restaurants, craft shops and pubs. After a short linger in the street, we are going to Jinsha Site Museum to sense the civilization and history of Sichuan Province.

DAY 8 :

Departure

After your breakfast at hotel, our guide will see you off at the airport today for your journey onwards.
