Itinerary:
Day 1&2 : North Jutland
Watch the view of two seas colliding and take a walk in the sand dunes along the long coastline. The top of Denmark is an island, split from mainland Jutland by the enormous Limfjord. Enjoy a landscape that is beautiful but harsh, with white beaches, sand dunes, cliffs, heath land and forests. Visit Aalborg, a city of contrasts, and full of galleries, museums, cafes and restaurants.
Day 3&4 : Funen
Explore the garden isle of Funen and its gently rolling hills, orchards, hedgerows and thatched, half-timbered farmhouses. Small bridges and ferry routes take you to the archipelago of islands. Step into fairytale land in the city of Odense, the birth place of Hans Christian Andersen.
Day 5&6 : South Jutland
A historical treasure trove of ancient towns, castles, cathedrals and museums this is Denmark’s borderland with a fascinating history. Take in a spot of jousting at Ribe, Denmark’s oldest town, visit the magnificent medieval castle of Koldinghus, and walk for miles along the bird flats in the Wadden Sea National Park, great for bird watching too!
Day 7&8 : East Jutland
Fertile landscapes, expansive forests, sandy shorelines and bustling big cities the hilly landscape here was formed by glaciers. Visit the old town of Aarhus and its National Open Air Museum a living, breathing experience of what it was like to live and work in a Danish market town. Find the child in you at Legoland by land, sea and air. And get ready for speed, thrills and fun at Djurs Sommer land, Scandinavia’s biggest summer land.
Day 9&10 : Zealand and Copenhagen
Dive into Denmark’s Viking past here, there are plenty of magnificent castles and historic palaces and more of Denmark’s history to see at the vibrant capital, Copenhagen. Renaissance palace, Frederiksborg, is a fairytale castle built on three islets and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Hire a bike and head out to north Zealand with its green and open landscapes that combine with a calm and peaceful coastline.
Day 11 & 12 : Mon and Lolland-Falster
Travel through small villages and islands in this southernmost tip of Denmark. Take a hike through green landscapes, along beautiful beaches, and across bridges that connect south Zealand with the rustic islands of Falster, Lolland and Moen. Stand on the beach at Moen and look up at the beautiful light and white chalk cliff – Moen’s Klint – that rises more than 100m vertically up into the sky. The sea is stunningly icy clear here. Catch sight of wild orchids, large blue butterflies, and the peregrine falcon – the fastest animal in the world.

Rubjerg Knude Lighthouse, North Jutland: Visit this lighthouse before it falls into the sea. Built in 1900, coastal erosion is threatening its very being.
